I’ve had the fantasy of visiting every library and park in PDX since I arrived in 2015. Very little anchors me more than a good stroll or spending time among books. What better way to get to know a city than through its parks and libraries?

But after living in Portland for 4 years, my ability to navigate the city hasn’t improved all that much. I’ve visited a bunch of parks and libraries, but I couldn’t tell you where exactly they are, and there’s a good chance I’ll mix up their names.

Hence this blog. My goal is to catalog Portland’s parks and libraries so I have a reference for myself and potentially a useful resource for others. 

I use parks and libraries as meet-up locations, first date spots, reading nooks, remote offices, sanctuaries, bathroom pitstops, and more. 

I want to have a record of the pros and cons of each location. My hope is that in documenting it this way I’ll also be able to find them again on my own.
